這些試劑盒可同等用于分析型實(shí)驗(yàn)( IPG膠條)和制備型實(shí)驗(yàn)( Rotoforf和MicroRotofor )的樣品制備。試劑盒的原理基于使用離液蛋白溶解緩沖液(PSB)，其中含有非去垢劑磺基*銨乙內(nèi)酯，以及尿素、硫脲和CHAPS，以顯著的增強(qiáng)蛋白質(zhì)溶解性( Villard等，1995)。制備好的樣品可直接用于等電聚焦實(shí)驗(yàn)。試劑盒根據(jù)樣品種類不同分為哺乳動(dòng)物、植物、酵母和細(xì)菌四種。
